Charles joined the WWAY team in December of 2025 as a Weekend Meteorologist and Multimedia Journalist. He grew up in Gloucester, Virginia, where his interest in weather began after an EF-3 tornado impacted his hometown in April 2011. Charles graduated from Virginia Tech with a degree in Meteorology and a minor in music, where he was in the Phi Sigma Pi National Honors Fraternity, Chi Epsilon Pi Meteorological Honors Society, and the Virginia Tech Meteorology Club.
He also participated in the Marching Virginians, concert band, and orchestra. He plays piano, saxophone, drums, violin, and viola, and gained hands-on experience through internships maintaining local mesonet weather stations and working in broadcast meteorology in Charlottesville, Virginia. In his free time, he enjoys composing music, cooking, spending time outdoors, and exploring fashion.
