Kevin Ackley

Kevin Ackley moved to Sunset Beach, North Carolina in June of 2024. He joined the WWAY News Team that same month as the assistant producer of Good Morning Carolina and producer of the Noon and 12:30.

Before joining the team, Kevin had previously worked as a producer at WTAJ News in Altoona, Pennsylvania from June of 2022 to June of 2024. Before then, Kevin got the opportunity to work as a Cast Member at the Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Florida.

Kevin is from Lock Haven, Pennsylvania where he grew up and lived for about 20 years, having been born and lived in Norfolk, Virginia before moving to Beaufort, South Carolina after that. He graduated from Penn State University in 2021 with a Bachelors in Communications.

When he’s not working on bringing you news stories, Kevin is more than likely out on the golf course, as he is an avid golfer having been in the sport since he was a kid. He is also a major railroad enthusiast. He takes his passion for railroads and combines that with his videography and photography hobbies on his YouTube Channel (CSX 1776 Productions) which showcases many different railroads in the country.

Kevin also loves traveling. He has been up and down the East Coast of the United States and to other countries as well such as Canada, Mexico, the Bahamas, and Bermuda. He’s also been to Spain, England, and France.

He currently lives in Sunset Beach with his wife, Aura.
