Summer joined WWAY in June 2024 as the weekend meteorologist and reporter.
Prior to moving to North Carolina, Summer graduated from Florida State University in May 2024. As a Nole, she earned her B.S. in Meteorology. While in school, Summer took part in the FSU weather show to help craft her on air talent. Summer also volunteered with the National Weather Service to better understand forecasting.
As a young girl, Summer fell in love with the weather and wanted to understand why different weather phenomena occurred. Growing up in the Philadelphia Metropolitan area, Summer’s interest in the weather grew with Hurricane Sandy in 2012.
In Summer’s free time, she enjoys going to the beach, being an unwavering Philly sports fan, and hanging out with family, friends and her boyfriend. As this is Summer’s first time in the Cape Fear, she is looking forward to exploring what the area has to offer.
