Tomika Jackson joined WWAY as an anchor for Good Morning Carolina in November of 2024. She is excited to join a station known for its strong leadership and long-standing presence in the Wilmington community.
Originally from Tifton, Georgia, Tomika began her media career more than 20 years ago in Albany, Georgia, as a morning show producer at WALB-TV 10. Her career has taken her to several television markets, including Action News Jax/WTEV-TV in Jacksonville, Florida; WTOC-TV in Savannah, Georgia; The CW Network in Atlanta, Georgia; and WBTW-TV in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Throughout her career, she has worked in a variety of behind-the-scenes roles, including editor, camera operator, floor director, and producer. She later took time away from the broadcast industry to raise her daughters and serve her community through work in education, law, nonprofit management, and live entertainment.
Upon returning to media, Tomika transitioned to on-air roles, working as an emcee, breaking news reporter, lifestyle reporter, lifestyle television host, and now as a news anchor.
Tomika is a proud mother of two daughters, Akeri and Najai, and is married to her college sweetheart, Michael. Outside of work, she enjoys all things centered on faith, family, fun, food, fashion, and creativity. In her free time, she can often be found singing, crafting (especially pour painting), spending time at the park or beach, or binge-watching HGTV.
