Black flags posted at NC beach, no swimming allowed
PINE KNOLL SHORES, NC (WCTI/WWAY) — The Town of Pine Knoll Shores issued a black flag no-swimming advisory for all public beach access locations for Friday. That means no swimming is allowed.
Town leaders advised all homeowner associations and private home/condominium owners to also stay out of the ocean until surf conditions improve.
The town manager cited a beach hazard issued by the National Weather Service. It was extended through Friday night.
It stated there is a high rip current risk for beaches from Fort Fisher to Cape Hatteras. The threat also includes the Brunswick County beaches.
