Bladen Co. deputy involved in crash

BLADEN COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — A deputy with the Bladen County Sheriff’s Office was involved in a crash while responding to a call.

According to a news release, the crash happened Monday night just before 10:30 p.m. at the intersection of Highway 211 Bypass and Highway 410 near Bladenboro. Sheriff James McVicker said Deputy Robert Duggan collided with another vehicle while he was headed to a call. Duggan was treated and released at Bladen Count Hospital.

Investigators said there were six people in the other vehicle. Their conditions are unknown, but at least one occupant was airlifted to New Hanover Regional Medical Center.

The Highway Patrol is investigating.
