Bladen Co. man arrested for plow theft
BLADEN COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — Bladen County deputies have arrested a Clarkton man for allegedly stealing a plow out of a field.
Alston Lynn Collins, 31, of 356 Bridgers Rd. is charged with felony larceny and possession of stolen property.
Investigators say the bottom plow had been left underneath a barn in a field on S. Page Rd. Collins had previously worked for the owner of the plow. Detectives say Collins got help loading the plow with a backhoe after claiming that the plow had been given to him.
The plow was loaded on a trailer and taken to Metal Recycling in Whiteville, where it was valued at $2,500 and Collins was given $400 for it as scrap metal.
Collins is currently in the Bladen County Jail under a $100,000 secured bond.
