Bladen Community College repays misspent money

BLADEN COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — A state audit of Bladen Community College found several problems, including a lack of safeguards over cash and checks and access to information systems.

The audit also found the college used money from the state and the school’s bookstore to pay employee bonuses. The $23,000 was used to help offset an increase in health insurance premiums.

The school has repaid the money to the state and bookstore.
