VIDEO BLOG: Watch next 2 weeks for winter weather
This blog should really be prefaced with a disclaimer that says, "Tim is NOT saying/predicting/forecasting that it is going to snow in Wilmington." With that being said, I’m going to talk about a pattern change that I’m seeing for the next couple of weeks that will make for more winter-like weather across the Eastern US. Will that mean snow for places that haven’t seen it yet this year? Yes, I think so. Will that include Wilmington? I can’t say yes or no at this point – and wouldn’t try to.
With that out of the way, let’s move on!
I recorded a video blog this morning talking about lots of things. Here’s the bulleted version for your quick text-only consumption:
- Cloudy, cool, damp weather will last here until tomorrow mid-day.
- An interesting tropical disturbance near Florida has about a 10-15% chance of becoming a named tropical or sub-tropical. That would be the 1st since the 1950’s for a February storm.
- A series of cold, dry, fronts will bring a few cold burts to the Carolinas this week — the most impressive one coming for the weekend.
- Cold air in Canada is building and will start to enter the US regularly later this week
- The next two weeks will be stormy, and cold across the Eastern US with folks who haven’t seen snow this year getting some snow
- The Carolinas could see some winter weather (especially Asheville/Charlotte/Raleigh) before February is done with
Here’s the link to the video which I’ve posted on my Facebook page:

Hope you enjoyed the big game last night! I sure did, even though I’m paying for it a bit on this sleep-deprived morning.
