Coast Guard: Boat hits two kayaking in Oak Island

BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — We’re getting details about another accident on the water in our area. This is the third within the past week.

The US Coast Guard says a boat hit two kayakers in Oak Island just before 9 p.m. Monday.

According to reports, it happened in the Intracoastal Waterway near the SE 49th Street.

Coast Guard crews say the boat captain stopped to help the kayakers and took them to EMS.

No word yet on the extent of their injures.

A man was sent the hospital after a boat accident near Figure Eight Island Sunday.

A Wilmington man was charged following a boat crash along the Southport waterfront last Thursday.
