Boat Capsizes – One Fatality

Jeremy Harrelson considers himself lucky. He’s in 3rd place in the Ocean Isle Beach Jolymon Fishing Tournament after day # 1. But that pales in comparison to the fact he missed the brunt of a storm that some fishermen today describe as the perfect storm.

“I heard of numerous boats capsizing. I believe four. It was a really bad time.”

There was indeed a calm before the storm.

Participants in the fishing tournament went out to sea, but then without time to turn around the storm approached and hit.

One veteran fishermen described it as the type of storm you hear about every 15 years.

And then there’s Jeremy Harrelson’s spin on it, “Lot of bad things going on today, it was pretty rough. Perfect storm that I don’t want to get in. It was pretty bad, a lot of wind and a lot of lightning.”
