Bob Jones III endorses Romney for president

COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) – The chancellor of the Christian fundamentalist Bob Jones University in Greenville is endorsing Mitt Romney for the Republican presidential nomination.

Romney’s campaign confirmed the endorsement by Bob Jones III yesterday.

Romney spokesman William Holley says the campaign is proud to have Jones’ support.

Jones didn’t immediately respond to a message last night from The Associated Press. But he told a Greenville newspaper that supporting Romney is critical. Jones says he doesn’t want former
New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani to win the Republican nomination and he doesn’t want Democrat Hillary Clinton to win the election.

Jones says it would be a disaster if choice next year is between Giuliani and Clinton, both pro-choice candidates.
