Body of man who went missing on White Lake found

WHITE LAKE, NC (WWAY) — Crews found the body of the man who went missing while tubing on White Lake this weekend.

Bladen County Emergency Management Director Bradley Kinlaw said crews found Kendrick Lavor Dials, 36, around 8:15 Monday morning.

Wildlife officers said Dials was visiting with his family from Florence, South Carolina. They said he went missing around 3:45 p.m. Saturday while riding an inner tube behind a boat.

Officials said Dials fell off of the tube and then, disappeared.

Monday morning, Kinlaw said crews found dials further down the lake from where he fell.

“I’d like to thank all the surrounding agencies, the Sheriff’s Office and everyone for helping and getting this to a conclusion,” Kinlaw said.

Wildlife officers said it is still under investigation and an autopsy has been scheduled. They said they do not expect any foul play. Meanwhile, Officers are alerting the public to be aware and wear life jackets while on the water.

“Wearing a life jacket while skiing or being towed by a boat can be life saving,” Officer Mike Nunnery said.
