Boiling Spring Lakes fire destroys homes

Boiling Spring Lakes, NC (WWAY)– The seventh accidental house fire in Brunswick County in less than two weeks destroyed a home Saturday.

Firefighters responded to a Boiling Springs Lake home around 11:00 am. There were no injuries, but fire marshal Scott Garner says 11 people lived in the house. Garner says the house is a total loss. Investigators could not determine a cause.

After six other accidental house fires last week Garner reminds residents to check their smoke detectors and be careful with space heaters.
