Bolivia man facing several attempted first-degree murder charges

BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — A Brunswick County man is facing five attempted first-degree murder charges in connection with an incident that happened over the weekend in Southport.
According to Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office warrants, 20-year-old Malaki Jahlon Smith of Bolivia allegedly fired at least one shot into a home in the 500 block of Jabbertown road on Saturday. Five people were inside the home at the time, but no one was hurt.
Smith was arrested on Sunday. In addition to the attempted murder charges, he is charged with Discharge Weapon into Occupied Property, Possess Weapon of Mass Destruction and Injury to Real Property.
Smith is also charged with Contributing to the Delinquency of a Minor; According to the warrants, a 16-year-old was in back seat of the vehicle Smith was in at the time of the shooting.
Smith is also accused of conspiring with Dashon Nmn Lee to fire shots into the home on Jabbertown Road.
Lee is charged with felony Aid and Abet.
Both Smith and Lee are being held in the Brunswick County Jail under no bond.
