Second suspect arrested in March shooting

BOLIVIA, NC (WWAY) — A second man faces charges tied to a shooting in Bolivia back in March.

Joseph Simeon Smith, 25, is charged with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury.

The shooting happened March 6 on Piney Grove Road NE. The victim was shot in the hip area and taken to the hospital.

One suspect, Rashen Bellamy, 25, was arrested for the shooting back in March. He was placed under a $150,000 bond.

Smith was arrested this morning and placed under a $150,000 bond..
