Bolton man accused of selling drugs at area park
BOLTON, NC (WWAY) — A Columbus County man is accused of selling drugs at Bolton Park.
The Columbus County Sheriff’s Office arrested Charles Alan Bowen, 26, of Bolton, at the park on Tuesday.
The Sheriff’s Office says they began investigating after receiving numerous complaints from the community about illegal activity happening at county parks and recreation facilities.
Vice-Narcotics Detectives were monitoring Bolton Park, which is where they discovered Bowen was selling drugs. Investigators say Bowen had two grams of cocaine and three grams of marijuana on him, as well as two guns at the time of his arrest.
Bowen is charged with:
- One felony count of possession with the intent to sell and/or deliver cocaine
- One felony count of possession with the intent to sell and/or deliver marijuana
He was placed under a $10,000 bond.
Bowen was also served with an outstanding domestic violence protection order.
The Sheriff’s Office says they will continue to monitor all county parks and recreation parks for illegal activity.
