Bomb threat at Pender County school
Students in Pender County were dismissed early Tuesday, following a bomb threat.
Faculty, students and administration were evacuated from Heide Trask High School around 1:00 this afternoon. Parents were notified by the Alert Now Message System, and allowed to pick up their children at the front of the school.
School officials said they decided to dismiss the campus, following the advice of law enforcement. Heide Trask parent Jeffrey Hill said, “He told me some information, there was something written in the bathroom about a bomb, so they were dismissed from school today.”
The Pender County Sheriff’s Department is investigating.
