Bond hearing delayed for murder suspect

WHITEVILLE, NC (WWAY) — A bond hearing has been continued for a man charged with murder in Columbus County.

Dedrick O’Keith Anders, 50, is charged with first-degree murder in the shooting death Sunday of Eric Bowen, 43. Investigators found Bowen’s body after responding to a call on Pocosin Road near Lake Waccamaw around 3:15 p.m.

Anders’s attorney James Payne said a judge continued the bond hearing until Wednesday because the state needed more time to prepare. For now Anders is in the Columbus County Jail without bond.
