Bond increased to $40k for second Topsail student arrested during lockdown

PENDER COUNTY, NC (WWAY)– The Topsail High School student who allegedly had a .22 caliber semi-automatic rifle in his vehicle during a school lockdown is back in jail under a higher bond.

Alan Edwardo, 16, appeared in court Thursday morning.

That’s when the judge increased the teen’s bond from $2,000 to $40,000.

Investigators say Edwardo told them he had a gun in his vehicle because he heard about the lockdown and wanted to stop the shooter.

On Tuesday morning, a parent called the Pender County Sheriff’s Office to warn them a student may be on the way to campus with a gun.

Several area schools went on lockdown.

Deputies arrested Bryce Sheehan, who was sitting in his vehicle in front of the school with four knives. One of them was strapped to his leg.

Sheehan also allegedly made a post about school violence on Instagram.

Sheehan appeared in court yesterday and was given a $25,000 bond. If he makes bond, he will remain on house arrest with electronic monitoring

If Edwardo posts bond, electronic monitoring will also be required.
