Boy drowns in White Lake

A sixteen-year-old boy drowned in White Lake Saturday afternoon.

The boy, from Granville County, was swimming out to a buoy with a friend when he went under.

White Lake Police said the friend did not realize the boy was missing.

The Bladen County Coroner has determined the drowning was accidental.

The boy’s name has yet to be released.
