Breaking & Entering, then Pouring & Frying!

Time: 2:51 a.m. – Thursday morning
Location: 108 Walnut Street – (Drifters Bar and Grill)
Offense: Felony B&E, Larceny, Property Damage

Summary: WPD officers responded to the area for a possible B & E in progress. The responding officer and his trainee parked down the street from the business and approached on foot. They spotted someone running out the back door and detained him.

Their investigation revealed that the intruder, who was intoxicated, broke into the business and drank from a bottle of liquor, then poured himself a glass of beer from the tap. Then, not realizing that the manager was still in the building, he went into the kitchen and began cooking chicken tenders and fries. When he realized someone was there, he ran out the back door and was apprehended.

The suspect, Jeremiah William Taylor, d.o.b. 10-29-1982, of Wilmington was charged with Felony B & E, Damage to Real Property and Damage to Personal Property. He was taken to New Hanover County detention facility. Bond was set at $1,000. (Taylor was not booked into the jail so it appears he posted bond and was released).
