Bringing presents on flights can be a costly expense

With many airlines charging fees for each checked bag, people are thinking twice about how they will transport Christmas presents this year.

Most airlines are charging passengers to check a second bag and some are even charging for the first. So instead of bringing presents on board, many air travelers are choosing to ship them instead. Some airlines are even partnering with FedEx.

One airline is offering a service where FedEx picks up you bag at your home, and drops it off at your destination the next day.

The convenience cost $99, but depending on how many bags you’re checking, that could still be a savings.

If you choose to take your gifts with you on a plane remember to leave your gifts unwrapped. But if you ship your gifts instead, FedEx actually encourages you to pre-pack any fragile items you ship, so feel free to wrap them as well.
