Brunswick Co. announces new County Attorney
WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY)– Brunswick County announced their new County Attorney Monday evening.
Robert Shaver, Jr. will begin his role on January 4th. He has been the County Attorney for Rockingham County since 2007. Before that, he worked as the County Attorney for Caswell County for five years.
Shaver has his Bachelor’s degree from the University of Virginia and his Juris Doctor degree from Wake Forest University. He has practiced law in North Carolina for 27 years, including 13 years in local government. He also served as the President of the North Carolina Association of County Attorneys for 2014-1015.
“I am excited to receive this opportunity and look forward to moving to Brunswick County,” Shaver said. “I intend to provide straight forward advice and guidance to assist the Commissioners and county management in meeting their goals to benefit the citizens of Brunswick County.”
“We have a great legal team supporting Brunswick County currently,” said Board of Commissioners Chairman Scott Phillips. “We welcome Mr. Shaver to that team and look forward to engaging his experience in leadership as we move Brunswick County forward.”
