Brunswick Co. CIS Executive Director resigns

BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — The Executive Director of Communities in Schools of Brunswick County has turned in her resignation.

CIS of Brunswick County Schools announced Wednesday that they had accepted Nancy Lamb’s resignation effective as of September 16. The release says Lamb has left to pursue other professional opportunities.

The CIS Board of Directors has started their search for a new Executive Director and will make an announcement when they have selected a replacement.

In the meantime, Bonnie Jordan will serve as the Interim Executive Director. Jordan has been with the CIS leadership team as Program Operations Officer for several years. The former Executive Director, Cynthia Tart, will also be providing assistance during the transition. Tart currently works for CIS of North Carolina as a Regional Support Coach providing guidance and support to local CIS groups.

The release says the transition will not effect programs and services. The organization will continue its focus on dropout prevention and other support services that serve students and families in the community.
