Brunswick Co. man facing numerous child sex charges

BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — An Ash man is in jail under a $500,000 bond on several sex crimes.

According to jail records, Waylon Ronald Simmons, 64, was booked yesterday evening in jail on charges including four counts of first degree sexual offense of a child, four counts of indecent liberties with a child and one count of second degree sexual offense.

According to arrest warrants, the offenses date back as far as 2006 up to 2015. Deputies said the offenses involved two victims who were either under the age of 13 or 16 at the time.
