Brunswick Co. School Board to name new superintendent

BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — The Brunswick County School Board is getting ready to announce who will be the district’s new superintendent.

The board has called a special meeting for 1 p.m. Tuesday, where members expect to name the new superintendent. According to an announcement, the board will go into closed session for confidential personnel matters, then in open session vote on the new superintedent.

A welcome reception will then be held Tuesday 5-6:15 p.m. in the lobby of the Brunswick County Schools Administrative Office in Bolivia.

The board has been looking for a new superintendent since firing Edward Pruden back in November.

Les Tubb has been serving as interim superintendent for the county.
