BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — A multi-month narcotics investigation led by the Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office, in coordination with the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation and with assistance from the New Hanover County Sheriff’s Office, has resulted in multiple arrests and the seizure of large quantities of illegal drugs and firearms, authorities said.

According to officials, the Vice/Narcotics Unit conducted an extensive investigation targeting drug trafficking activity throughout Brunswick County. During the course of the operation, agents reportedly made controlled purchases totaling approximately 691 grams of methamphetamine and 35 grams of cocaine.

Following the investigation, law enforcement executed four residential search warrants across the county. Those searches resulted in the seizure of additional narcotics, firearms, and cash believed to be connected to illegal drug activity.

In total, authorities seized 261 additional grams of methamphetamine, 268 grams of cocaine, and 8 grams of fentanyl, along with seven firearms and $14,891 in U.S. currency. Officials said two of the firearms were reported stolen, and three had been modified with auto sears to function as fully automatic weapons.

Six individuals were arrested and face a wide range of drug and weapons-related charges.

Authorities identified those charged as Terrance Fullwood, Dashawn Fullwood, Damond Stanley, Lashama Fullwood, Richard Clemmons, and Katelyn Woodell. Charges include trafficking methamphetamine, cocaine, and opium, possession with intent to manufacture, sell and deliver controlled substances, conspiracy offenses, and various possession-related drug charges. Stanley also faces additional charges related to stolen firearms and possession of a weapon of mass destruction.

Sheriff Brian Chism said the removal of illegal and modified firearms from the community was a significant outcome of the investigation.

“These were not just illegal drugs being trafficked throughout our communities, this investigation uncovered dangerous firearms, including stolen weapons and firearms modified to fire fully automatic,” Chism said. “Every one of these weapons removed from our streets represents a potential act of violence prevented.”

Officials said the investigation is ongoing and additional arrests are expected as authorities continue to target drug trafficking and illegal weapons activity in the area.
