Brunswick County fugitive arrested after standoff in Little River

Horry County police arrested a wanted North Carolina man after a more than two-hour standoff in Little River on Wednesday night, according to police.

Police responded to reports of a person barricaded in a Little River area home Wednesday around 5:30 p.m.

Christopher John Clarida, 27, of Bolivia, N.C., is charged with resisting arrest and being a fugitive, according to jail records.

Police said that Clarida and another wanted person out of North Carolina were believed to be inside a home off Lincoln Heights Drive.

Police responded, but after many unsuccessful attempts to have Clarida exit the home, the HCPD SWAT unit made entry and successfully apprehended Clarida, according to Krystal Dotson, spokesperson for the department.

Clarida was wanted for a felony drug warrant out of North Carolina.
