Brunswick County names new economic development director
BOLIVIA, NC (WWAY) — Brunswick County has a new economic development director.
The county has named Michael DiTullo to the position.
DiTullo currently serves as the President and CEO of Rockland County Economic Development Corporation in New York. According to a news release, during his time there, he induced more than 15 corporate attractions, with more than 2 million square feet of industrial, office and high-tech space, more than 2,500 new jobs and nearly $1 billion in private sector capital investment. He has also worked as the Managing Director for the Orange County Business Accelerator in New Windsor, New York, and has 30 years of experience working in business development and real estate in New York.
“I am honored to be selected as the first Director of the Economic Development Department for Brunswick County,” DiTullo said in a statement. “I look forward to joining Team Brunswick as we all work together to attract inward corporate investment, job opportunities for our residents and grow and expand the county’s tax base.”
DiTullo and his wife, Joan, live in Southport, where they own a home.
DiTullo will begin in his role with Brunswick County Nov. 2.
Jim Bradshaw announced his retirement earlier this year as executive director of the Brunswick County Economic Development Commission. Days later the members of the Economic Development Commission Board of Directors and the Economic Development Corporation Board of Directors in Brunswick County all resigned. That led county leaders to create an Economic Development Department, which has been led on an interim basis by County Manager Ann Hardy.
