Brunswick County rotary club bikes bridges to raise money for charity

SHALLOTTE (WWAY) – The Rotary Club of South Brunswick Islands hosted its annual Three Bridge Tour on Saturday, November 4th. The event celebrated the beaches of Brunswick County and gave riders the opportunity to trek across three featured bridges at Sunset Beach, Ocean Isle Beach, and Holden Beach.
The Three Bridge Tour was founded in 2019 and has continued to grow annually. This year’s tour had over two-hundred and thirty bike riders participate, and raised over twenty-three-thousand dollars for local and international charitable causes. This marked new records for the event.
“It’s amazing to see how much this event has grown,” shared event founder and Rotary Club of South Brunswick Islands member, T.J. Spivey. “It wouldn’t have been possible without the support of the community and we are so grateful to everyone who’s contributed. Our sponsors, the volunteers, the riders, and even the residents who came out to cheer on the cyclists as they rode by; it’s been a team effort from start to finish. Seeing everyone embrace the event and rally behind it has been awesome.”
Funds from the event are contributed to those in need in the community, with a special focus on experiences and learning opportunities that enrich the lives of the children and youth in Brunswick County, as well as international rotary causes.
“The Three Bridge Tour is a true win, win for everyone involved,” continued Spivey. “We know that we’re supporting a great cause and making a positive impact for our community. When you can help people and have a lot of fun doing it, it’s tough to beat that.”
