Brunswick county settles lawsuit with former county attorney

BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — Brunswick County has settled a lawsuit with its former county attorney.

Huey Marshall resigned in 2015, shortly after he was cited for marijuana possession.

Marshall later sued the county, citing breach of employment contract regarding his leave and benefits.

Brunswick County agreed to pay Marshall $9,000.

The case was dismissed in April as part of the settlement agreement.
