Brunswick Co. ‘Teen Mom’ star calls 911 during alleged road rage incident

BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — A Brunswick County woman who has been in and out of the tabloids since she first appeared on MTV’s “16 & Pregnant” and then “Teen Mom 2” in 2011, is now making headlines over an alleged road rage incident near Bolivia.

It happened around 5:30 p.m. on April 26 on Hwy 17.

Reality star Jenelle Evans called 911 call while driving from Shallotte with her son, Jace.

According to the 911 call, Evans told the operator a white Ford truck had been tailgating her and eventually raced in front of her and slammed on brakes.

“He made me slam the brakes so hard that my phone went flying, my son, his head almost got whiplash and almost hit the dash, that’s how hard I had to slam on the brakes,” Evans said in the call.

Evans also told the operator the other driver was ‘going crazy, swerving in and out of lanes’ in an effort to not be behind her anymore.

According to 911 records, the other driver involved in the incident also called 911 and said that a ‘crazy lady’ followed him to his house, hit a mailbox, hit two cars, and pulled a gun on him.

The NC Highway Patrol and Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office responded.

There are two NCHP reports. In one, it says Evans was backing out onto Supply St. when she ran off the road and struck a mailbox.

The other report says one driver was heading west on Supply Street and Evans was driving south when they collided.

The state trooper said in the report with the collision that due to conflicting stories and lack of physical evidence, he could not determine fault in the crash.

As far as the alleged report of a gun and whether Evans should have been charged, the Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office said if an officer did not witness it and if there is no evidence to support those claims, then likely an officer could not swear out a warrant, because he wouldn’t be able to wear it happened.

The alleged victim would have likely been advised of his right to swear out a warrant.
