Brunswick County to accept storm debris at no charge

BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — Brunswick County will accept storm-related debris, including yard debris, household items like white goods, and construction and demolition debris, at no charge through Monday, Oct. 24, at the Brunswick County Landfill in Bolivia and at the county convenient sites.

The county had previously said residents would have to pay a $22.50/ton tipping fee at the landfill. Residents who already paid to dispose of storm-related debris may present a receipt to request a refund.

Residents taking yard debris to the landfill are still encouraged to do so in the mornings, as large trucks are typically coming off their routes between 1 and 3 p.m., and back-ups are more likely at that time. Residents inside municipal limits should contact their municipality about debris disposal options in their area.
