Brunswick County’s newest attraction opens for the public

BELVILLE, NC (WWAY) — The Brunswick Riverwalk officially opened Saturday in Belville.

People had a chance to walk the trail along the river and enjoy the view from the fishing pier.

Belivile Mayor Mike Allen said it took almost two and half years to get to this point.

He said all the time and hard work that went into the project was worth it.

“This day is just exciting for us and now we see it’s exciting for our community, our town and the whole area,” said Allen.

Allen said phase one of the project finished ahead of schedule and under budget.

He said phase two will begin soon. They are looking to expand the riverwalk to the North Carolina Battleship.
