BOLIVIA, NC (StarNews) — Michael DiTullo has resigned as Brunswick County’s economic development director, Ann Hardy, the county’s manager confirmed Wednesday.

Hardy couldn’t provide further comment on DiTullo’s decision, citing personnel rules.

But the resignation comes a day after the StarNews and other media outlets indicated that Brunswick County had applied to be the new location for an international tire plant that could lead to a $458 million investment in the county and more than 1,000 jobs.
