Brunswick’s Mobile Evacuation Bus ready just in case

The Mobile Evacuation Bus is Brunswick County’s new tool to assist in emergencies. It has room to transport 20 patients on a stretcher and 10 wheelchair patients. It can be easily reconfigured to transport up to 30 wheelchairs or used as a rehabilitation unit at major fire and rescue scenes.

Emergency services officials say it will be invaluable in helping special needs residents.

The bus is one of just a few in the state. It rolled into town Friday, and will be tested in an exercise July 11th.
