Brunswick Community Hospital’s new building is on schedule for next year

Construction on the new Novant Brunswick Medical Center is moving ahead smoothly. Crews broke ground on the new facility last June, and the hospital is scheduled to be finished late next year.

Once it is complete, it will have 78 beds. President Denise Mihal said as the hospital continues to grow more medical professionals are moving to Brunswick County.

“There weren’t enough providers here, primary care physicians, and sub specialists,” Mihal said. “As we’re recruiting the physicians on board and bringing them back into the county we are seeing less and less patients leaving the county for their healthcare.”

The new hospital is scheduled to be completed at the end of next year, but it will not be open for business until 2011.
