Brunswick County and Saunders feuding over tax money

There are new developments in the case of a Brunswick County developer who owes more than $1 million in back property taxes.

According to the Brunswick Beacon, Mr. Mark Saunders says his company hasn’t paid the county, because the county owes him a substantial amount of money.

Mr. Saunders says the county laid a water line over his property, without permission, and without compensating him, and that water line has halted development on his waterfront property.

Saunders’ company owns about $400 million worth of property in Brunswick County in major developments like Seawatch, and Ocean Ridge Plantation.
