Brunswick County Board of Education plans special meeting to discuss Gilbert

BRUNSWICK COUNTY — The Brunswick County Board of Education has called a special meeting tonight.

Board member conduct and safety issues will be the topics of discussion at the meeting.

The special meeting stems from a protective order filed against board member Ray Gilbert.

A school secretary says she had an affair with Gilbert, and is now worried he might try to hurt her or her children. The order currently bans Gilbert from three schools.

The meeting starts at five at the Brunswick County School district headquarters.
