Brunswick County bypass project sees help from stimulus money
Stimulus funds are giving the state DOT the boost it needs to get started on another leg of the Brunswick County Bypass project.
Wednesday, the Department of Transportation announced that $26 million of stimulus money will help build the leg of the project that connects US 17 and 74/76 in Brunswick County. Construction on this leg of the bypass is set to begin next year.
Another part of the bypass that runs from Market Street to US 421 is already complete.
Construction on the last leg of the project between 74/76 and US 421, that will tie everything together, is scheduled to begin in 2012.
