Bullets hit at least three Wilmington homes in two separate shootings

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Several Wilmington homes with adults and young children inside were shot at overnight, and police are still searching for suspects.

No one was hurt in either shooting.

The first shooting was just after midnight in the 900 block of S. 8th Street. Two homes and a car were hit.

A few hours later there was a second shooting in the 1500 block of S. 12th Street. Two homes were hit.

“I was watching TV in my room,” Eligio Rodriguez said. “I was laying down on the bed when I hear about maybe seven shots, you know, but very quickly, like da-da-da-da-da-da.”

Several shots hit Rodriguez’s next door neighbor’s home, where he says three young children were sleeping. Rodriguez says he did not see the shooters, and police do not have a suspect description for either shootings.
