Burgaw man fatally shot spoke to WWAY in 2014 after brother was killed

BURGAW, NC (WWAY) — The man shot and killed in Burgaw also lost his brother to violence four years ago.

Burgaw Police confirm this appears to be their shooting victim Rakeem Brown.

WWAY spoke with Brown in 2014 the day after his brother Raequan Rouse was accidentally shot and killed by fellow gang members in Wilmington.

Police say Brown was shot Monday while walking in the area of Satchwell and Bodenheimer streets.

Brown died at the hospital.
