Burr faces GOP challenge

Sen. Richard Burr has far more money than any of the Democrats that want his seat. It looks like he may have to spend some of it to fight off a challenge from his own party.

Eddie Burks, a businessman and councilman in Asheboro, has filed for the Republican primary. He points to an Elon University poll showing Burr’s approval rating at just 37 percent and says North Carolina deserves better.
