Burr leads Marshall in Senate poll; Libertarian gets support

RALEIGH, NC (WWAY) — A new poll in North Carolina’s Senate race shows Elaine Marshall’s post run-off bump is gone, but the bigger news may be the level of interest in the Libertarian candidate.

Incumbent Republican Richard Burr has a five-point edge over Democrat Marshall at 38-33 percent, but Libertarian Michael Beitler received 10 percent of the vote in a new Public Policy Polling survey. Beitler is also running even with both candidates among independent voters.
