Bus driver reportedly tells kids Santa is not real

BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — The magic of Christmas was almost ruined for one Brunswick County family.

A woman claims her children came home crying after something they were told on the school bus not by kids, but by an adult.

Carol Simmons is a single mom working to make sure her two boys have a magical and cheery Christmas, but those dreams were almost dashed earlier this week.

“Monday, the boys got off the bus,” Simmons said. “One was very upset and was saying that the bus driver had told them that he didn’t want to hear about it, that there was no Santa Claus, that there was no Elf on the Shelf, and that the parents did all that stuff.”

Santa … not real? Words many parents dread hearing so Simmons assured her boys Santa would be visiting them on Christmas Eve.

She then vented her frustrations on Facebook where Mrs. Claus came to the rescue.

“It’s the season of giving and it’s necessary for us to go out and do whatever we can to save Christmas for these two little boys,” Mrs. Claus said.

Mrs. Claus and Prissy Elf connected with Logan and Landon to show that the Christmas spirit is truly alive.

“Prissy Elf let my boys know that the bus driver had been on the naughty list for more than 5 years,” Simmons said.

“I spoke with them and asked the school, different activities they were involved in, and things they wanted for Christmas and talked to them about the North Pole and let them know when you stop believe he stops coming,” Mrs. Claus said.

After the incident, Simmons complained to the school about the bus driver.

The Brunswick County Schools Spokeswoman responded stating:

“Children are naturally inquisitive and sometimes ask adults tricky questions. This is particularly true during this time of year when we are celebrating holiday traditions. School and system officials have conducted an investigation regarding the allegations and have addressed this matter with the employee.”

Mrs. Claus made sure these two boys are on the nice list.
