Bus route will soon head to beach

WILMINGTON — You could soon take a bus from Wilmington and head to the beach.

Cape Fear Public Transportation Authority, more commonly known as WAVE Transit, plans to expand its routes beginning in January.

The new route will take people to Carolina Beach.

A WAVE Transit spokesperson says the next step is public hearings in the fall.

The DOT will need to approve the new routes.
