Buzz Peterson introduces his UNCW basketball team to the media

There are six new faces on this year’s squad. Four are freshmen including sharp shooting guard Tanner Milson. “I’m looking forward to packing Trask Coliseum,” Milson said. “ I’m looking forward to stepping in and making shots, taking charges, make free throws or whatever it takes. I hope to be ready.”

The coaching staff also has its fair share of new faces. This includes veteran head coach Buzz Peterson who’ll be entering his first season as head coach of the Seahawks. “ They look sharp in their warm-ups,” said Peterson. “ Every coach in America right now will tell you they’re excited, but we really are. We should have a nip in the air this weekend. When it starts cooling down that’s when you know it’s basketball season.” Senior Ahmad Grant talked about the coaching transition with Buzz Peterson taking the place of former UNCW coach Benny Moss. “ We all loved Benny Moss, but coach Peterson is a good guy too,” said Grant

Basketball practice for the Seahawks will hit start on Thursday for Buzz Peterson’s squad. The team will also participate in Miidnight Madness at Trask Coliseum on Friday. Midnight Madness starts at 9:30pm.
