CAA may invade the SoCon

WILMINGTON,NC (WWAY) — Over the past few weeks three different universities in the CAA announced plans to leave the conference. VCU will be joining the Atlantic 10 Conference later this year. Old Dominion and Georgia State will be leaving the CAA in 2013.

UNCW athletic director Jimmy Bass told WWAY he expects the CAA to be just as strong once the conference replaces the three departing schools. This weekend the future of the CAA appears to be a bit more clear. The Colonial Athletic Conference is reportedly looking to add teams from the Southern Conference to the CAA.
