WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Cape Fear Community College announced the appointment of two new members to the Board of Trustees, Cailey Rash and Shannon Winslow.

They were officially sworn in on Thursday, July 17, 2025.

Each will serve a four-year term ending in 2029.

CFCC said Cailey Rash is a local entrepreneur and advocate for maternal health.

She operates her own business as a childbirth educator and birth doula.

She holds a B.S. in Health & Exercise Science from Wake Forest University and was previously celebrated as a WILMA Women to Watch finalist.

CFCC said Shannon Winslow is the Director of Strategic Accounts at WebMD Health Services, where she partners with Fortune 100 companies to design global health and wellness strategies.

Her career includes leadership roles at Walgreens and Bank of America, and extensive service to local organizations such as The Endowment, Willie Stargell Foundation, and the Northside School of Christian Leadership.

Shannon is a Wilmington native with a B.A. in Economics from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and an MBA from UNC-Wilmington.

“We are excited to welcome Cailey and Shannon to the CFCC Board of Trustees,” said CFCC President Jim Morton. “Their leadership and dedication to community service will help guide our college as we continue to grow and support student success. At the same time, we are grateful to outgoing trustees, Ms. Deborah Maxwell and Mr. Jonathan Barfield, for their years of service and contributions to CFCC’s mission.”

A.D. “Zander” Guy and Dane Scalise have been reappointed to the Board of Trustees by the Pender County and New Hanover County Commissioners, respectively.

Each will serve a four-year term concluding in 2029.
